A few years ago I bought a yacht. It’s a Baker Seal 28. I had no boating or sailing experience. Learning to sail at the local dingy club after getting the yacht. I then did RYA Powerboat Level 2 and RYA Shortwave radio courses. I had no engine maintenance experience, learning via YouTube and forums. The yacht was built by John Baker in 1976 and designed by Angus Primrose. Later the range was taken over by Parker. It’s a lifting keel, in that, you put the keel down to sail it and up to beach it! Weird to have a great hole in the floor. The Bukh DV20 diesel engine is built tough, as it the strong fiberglass keel. Lucky, as the yacht was quite neglected before I got it.

I found this forum very handy too: https://www.cruisersforum.com/

With an outboard fixed to the stern we took it from Lochcarron to Inverness via the canal in a short time. Now to get that internal diesel fixed.
