I had unpublished my book Caffeinated in Woolwich as, for me, it was a bizarre concept. I wrote all the pieces for my writing degree and collated them into the book. That was the module objective. I already had a self-published book on Amazon. This was an exercise to get the students self published with an “overview” of their work and I saw little point in it as I’d already done that. Subsequently I took two of the pieces and put them into my book of short stories. However, Caffeinated contains a non-fiction piece, well, actually two, and a long poem. I’ve had very good feedback on the book since unpublishing it. It seemed to me that, because it is a short book, and therefore the cost is smaller, it is indeed, a gateway book to my other books and writing.
